The pounding feels more like the headache he's given himself by thinking too damn hard about all of this. So he ignores it at first, still very much lost in his own thoughts. It's not until the pounding goes out of sync with the throbbing of his head that he realizes someone is at his door. If his glare could cut through metal John wouldn't have to worry about him coming to open the door, it would be sliced in half by now.
"Go away, Mycroft." He'll grumble loudly at the insistent pounding.
He doesn't want to deal with his brother, no doubt he's horribly disappointed in him. Ha, he should have seen it. All along this was Mycroft's plan wasn't it? How could he have been so blind?
